Elgin Tower Lofts

Elgin Tower Lofts
Elgin's tallest building rose in 1929 as the Home National Bank Building: fifteen stories and 186 feet of Art Deco confidence overlooking Fountain Square.
Gray granite and Indiana limestone frame the entrance, where Corinthian columns stand beneath carved eagles — and the three-faced clock in its copper and bronze case became so well known that the bank advertised itself as "The Bank with the Clock."
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002 and a contributing building in the Elgin Downtown Commercial District, the tower has been fully restored as 44 loft apartments, its Art Deco character intact.
